Learning and growing

One of my favorite things about motherhood is watching my children learn and grow. It never ceases to amaze me at how fast they figure things out.

Today I watched Kieran as he discovered some of the aspects of gravity. He crawled out of his room which is directly opposite the stairs, carrying a block in his hand. He stopped at the top of the stairs and threw the block. It tumbled all the way down to the bottom. He was fascinated. He then proceeded to look around him for something else. He found a paper doll the kids had left on the floor and threw that down. It stayed on the top, so he picked it up & threw it again. He only stopped when it went to the 2nd stair. He then found another toy, it only went half way down. I think I now have something on almost every step to clean up!

Markay came out of her to see him there, shut the gate all the way and said, "Mommy, Kieran doesn't need to go down the stairs. He will fall and get hurt. But, I won't get hurt, because I'm a big girl. I can walk down the stairs". And a big girl she is. I remember each of the other kids doing something similar to this. It's amazing to see how fast they grow!
