Markay's 1st primary Talk

I meant to post this last week (just like I've meant to post so many other things in the past few months), but some how never got around to it.

Markay gave her 1st primary talk last week. The subject was: The ordinance of baptism blesses my family. The 1st thing I thought of was how those of our ancestors that 1st accepted the gospel and were baptized truly blessed each of us who followed.

As you may or may not know, my wonderful mother-in-law is a convert. Since she is someone that Markay can relate to, we chose to center our talk around her and how her baptism has blessed us.

How Baptism Blesses My Family

This is a picture of my Grammy and Grandpa. They are my daddy's mom & dad. When my Grammy was little, she didn't go to primary. She wasn't a member of our church. When she was a teenager, Grammy found out about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints. She liked what she heard and the way it made her feel, so she decided to get baptized with her mommy. Even though decided to stop going to church after a while, Grammy kept her baptismal covenants and kept going to church. I'm sure that must have been hard for her.

Because Grammy kept her promises that she made when she was baptized, she met Grandpa when he got home from his mission and they were able to be married in the Oakland Temple and start a forever family. Grammy and Grandpa had 8 children. My daddy is the oldest. Grammy taught her children about Jesus' love for them and to live so that we can return to live with him.

I am thankful that Grammy was baptized and that because of her example, I know that Jesus loves me. I am excited to be able to follow my Grammy's and Jesus' example and be baptized when I am 8.

We are so thankful to Grammy for her example of endurance and faith! We love her so much and all of our ancestors who chose to accept the gospel. What a blessing it is in our lives.

Fast Sunday

Daynen & I were having a discussion at dinner tonight about the up-coming events of the next few weekends.

I said something like, "And this weekend is Fast Sunday, since next weekend General Conference and the following Sunday is Easter".

Dannik pops in and says, "So, they just have to have a regular slow Sunday then?"

Yup! Regular slow sunday it is!

Craft it Forward!

I had a friend post this on her blog & after much contemplation, I decided I would do it. SO, I am excited to see what she will make for me (especially since I haven't seen her in 10 years or so!) I think it sounds like it could be a lot of fun & just what I need to get me into a "crafty" mood. The first three people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! (especially since I am not particularly a very "crafty" person)
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It’ll be done this year. (It very well may take me until the end of the year to come up w/ something!)
4- You have no clue what it’s going to be.
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3 people who do the same on your blog. The first 3 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me!
Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!Who’s in?

9 years and counting

Wow, do we ever look different!

Today Daynen & I are celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary! It's hard to believe that it has been that long. It seems like just yesterday, yet it seems like forever (in a good way...most days).

I just want to tell everyone how thankful I am for my wonderful husband. We have had our share of problems over the years, but I can honestly say, that I wouldn't trade them for anyone elses! I am married to a gentle, kind and loving man. He is a wonderful husband and a great father. He loves me inspite of my many faults and helps me want to be a better person. I grow more and more in love w/ him each year and especially as I watch him play w/ our beautiful children. He truly is a good man and I am blessed to be his wife.

Baby Face

Baby at 29.5 weeks

Just thought I would post the latest picture of "baby Mc". It's hard to believe how fast they grow! It's so amazing to see this little face, and watch him squirm and move. He is just over 3 lbs at this point and should gain another 1.5 to 2 lbs in the next 3 weeks. It's hard to believe that in just over 2 months time, he will probably be 3x as big as he is now!
We are almost at 30 weeks now (29 wks, 6 days to be exact). Things are moving along just fine in the baby area. My midwife informed me today that, yes, he is still a boy... and he's doing great. His heartbeat is slowing down as he begins to mature & he is quite wiggly!
I am constantly in awe of how much I already love this little boy and feel such a strong bond with him. I am so thankful to be able to be a part of this little miracle. So thankful for the gift of motherhood!
By the way, we still haven't narrowed down a name, so if you have any suggestions, we are still looking.

Brat

I started this post a while ago and completely forgot about it. Thank goodness for auto-save.

Comforting my little princess after a fall at a b-day party.

Markay was having a hard day today, crying about everything. Yelling, screaming, throwing tantrums... I got a little fed up finally and picked her up & put her in her bed. "You can come out when you stop crying and whining and being a brat!", I said.
Well, a little while later I hear her say, "Mom, I stopped crying and whining.... But I'm not done being a brat, can I come out of my room now?"
Uh, oh! What have I started?

Now we just need help w/ a name!

Well, we had the "comprehensive" ultrasound today. And, with further inspection, our suspicions from the last appointment have been confirmed. We are having another little boy.
Because I was so sick this time (and Dannik said Heavenly Father had told him it was little girl), we thought for sure that this would be a little girl. Daynen has been calling him her the whole time (thankfully the baby does not yet understand, and won't remember it anyway) and we had a little girl name all picked out. Even plans on how we would move the rooms around so that the boys could share a room and the girls could share a room. Funny how plans always get a monkey wrench thrown into them.
We are now making new plans on how the big kids will continue to share a room & the little kids will share a room when the new baby comes. We are also going to have to figure out a new name! We are open to any suggestions that you may have. You know, we like those plain names like we have given the rest of children.
(This is what I walked in to find after a quick potty break, right before the ultrasound started).

From the ultrasound room:

When the technician announced that the baby was in fact a he, Dannik says:

"Oh man! That messes up the pattern!" (boy, girl, boy, girl...)

The tech, "Well, who's fault is that?"

Dannik, without hesitation, "Daddy's!"

The tech, laughing out loud, "You are the smartest little boy I have ever had in here!"
